Francis Bacon Lighting Tests

So my awesome friend Nikki got Anna and myself to go in with her on this great studio sublet in Chelsea. I'd had a plan to make photos imitating Francis Bacon paintings for some time and now I have the time and space (at least for a bit). I did some tests yesterday that came out pretty well. No Photoshop here folks.

I wasn't really angry...

Band of Horses

Here are mostly double exposures from a recent road trip to North Carolina. Anna's mom volunteers at this horse rescue place, so we got to feed, brush and hang out with the horses. It was amazing.

This is one of my favorites in a while.

The Sweet Smell of Success

Hey Cody,

thank you and sorry for not replying before.
I do get soo much email a day that I can't reply to all of them.
Sorry.

I'm going to be honest with you.
Your photos are nice but they don't rock my world.

I'm very bad at writing this kind of emails.
That's also why I don't send them normally.

Sorry.

---From my favorite art blog today. Oh well, here are some Polaroids that may or may not rock your world.

Any hip, flash-in-the-pan BK bands, please contact me about using the above image for your first and only album.

SX-70

I got this amazing little Polaroid camera at a flea market in NJ a few months ago. It has an amazing design, the whole thing collapses with the idea of it fitting into a jacket pocket. Then it expands to look like a full Polaroid!

Snorkling at Tilden

On the 4th of July, Chris, Matt, and I rode out to what is quickly becoming our favorite summer spot, Fort Tilden. I took all the underwater gear with me, but to my dismay the water was incredibly opaque, visibility was lost about a foot away. I made due by trying to keep part of the camera out of the water while shooting.

Looks like Holga photos but it is digital.

High Bridge

Took a ride a few weeks ago with Chris to an old aqueduct that runs between upper, upper Manhattan and the Bronx. I think it was the hottest day of the year. It wasn't that fun...
